As JTCPL Designs marks nearly 25 years of practice, this cover story explores its evolution, design philosophy and growing global presence through an exclusive leadership interview and a showcase of projects that exemplify its approach to architecture and workplace design.
Celebrating nearly 25 years of practice, JTCPL Designs has established itself as one of India’s leading architect-led design and build firms, with studios in Mumbai and Dubai. What began as a practice rooted in corporate interiors has evolved into an international design studio, delivering over 1,000 projects in India & globally.

Led by Ninad Tipnis, Founder & Principal Architect, Vipul Tapke, CEO & Chief Architect, Siddharth Sukhathankar, COO, together with Preethi Sreedhara and Sushant Bakle, the practice has consistently remained at the forefront of workplace design, anticipating the importance of collaboration, team wellbeing and workplace experience long before they became defining priorities for the industry. At a time when offices were primarily viewed as functional environments, JTCPL Designs was already reimagining them as dynamic, people-centric spaces that inspire innovation, strengthen organisational culture and enhance productivity.
Today, the studio is recognised for creating high-performance workplaces for corporate headquarters, financial institutions, legal firms and leading businesses. Every project is guided by a strong design narrative, where architecture, interiors and workplace strategy come together through thoughtful planning, refined materiality and meticulous execution.

The firm’s design philosophy is rooted in understanding people as much as place. By responding to an organisation’s culture, operational needs and the evolving ways people work, JTCPL Designs creates environments that are timeless, functional and future-ready.
This people-first approach, combined with a strong focus on sustainability and design innovation, has earned the practice a growing presence across India, the Middle East, North America and other global markets.

Your practice is known for designing corporate headquarters, boutique offices, financial institutions, legal firms, and workplaces for high-growth start-ups. What is the defining philosophy that sets your approach to corporate architecture and interiors apart?
At JTCPL Designs, we create workplaces that serve as strategic business assets, aligning people, culture and business objectives through thoughtful design. Every organisation has its own ambitions, challenges and ways of working and our role is to translate these into environments that support performance, collaboration, innovation, productivity and wellbeing.

Our approach begins with understanding each client’s business, culture, growth aspirations and operational needs. This insight forms the foundation for workplaces that are purposeful, adaptable and designed for long-term success.
As an Architect led, Design & Build practice, we integrate strategy, design and execution from the outset, combining creative thinking with technical expertise and commercial understanding. The result is a seamless journey from concept to completion, delivering workplaces that remain relevant, resilient and impactful for years to come.
Every organization has a distinct culture and way of working. How do you translate a client’s vision, values, and business objectives into a workplace that is both functional and inspiring?
Every successful project begins with understanding people. Before developing layouts or concepts, we invest time in learning about the organisation’s leadership, culture, workflows and future aspirations.
Working closely with stakeholders, we uncover how teams collaborate, what drives performance and how the workplace can enable business growth. These insights shape environments that are purposeful, engaging and aligned with the organisation’s vision.
The workplace becomes a physical expression of the organisation’s values. Collaboration is fostered through connected spaces. Innovation is supported by environments that encourage creativity. Transparency is reflected in open planning, while focused work is enhanced through dedicated settings. Every design decision is thoughtfully aligned with the way people work.
When people feel connected to their environment, the workplace inspires engagement, strengthens culture, enhances productivity and creates meaningful experiences every day.
Innovation often lies in solving complex business challenges through design. Could you share a project where an unconventional design solution transformed the way an organization works, collaborates, or engages with its employees?
Blenheim Chalcot exemplifies JTCPL Designs’ belief that the workplace is a catalyst for innovation, collaboration and business growth. As a global venture builder creating technology businesses, the workplace was envisioned as a dynamic ecosystem that reflected entrepreneurial thinking, agility and continuous innovation.
The design was organised around experiences that support the way people work, collaborate, learn and connect. Collaborative hubs, flexible meeting spaces, informal breakout areas, learning environments and biophilic elements came together to create a workplace that encourages creativity, knowledge sharing and focused performance.

Inspired by the concept of Continual Evolution, the workplace was designed to grow alongside the organisation. Flexible planning and adaptable spaces provide the agility to support evolving teams, new ways of working and future business opportunities.
The result is a workplace that strengthens organisational culture, inspires innovation and demonstrates how thoughtful design can elevate both people and business performance.
The modern workplace demands a balance between collaboration, privacy, flexibility, and employee wellbeing. What innovative planning strategies and design interventions do you adopt to achieve this balance?
Every great workplace begins with understanding how people work. We believe organisations perform best when their workplaces support the full spectrum of focus, collaboration, learning, innovation and social connection.
Our planning approach creates a purposeful mix of collaborative hubs, quiet work areas, meeting spaces of varying scales and informal social settings, giving teams the flexibility to choose the environment best suited to each task while strengthening organisational culture.
Wellbeing is seamlessly integrated through natural light, biophilic design, thoughtful acoustic planning, ergonomic furniture, healthy indoor air quality and carefully curated lighting. Together, these elements create environments that enhance comfort, engagement and performance.
The result is a workplace that empowers people, fosters a strong sense of belonging and enables organisations to adapt, grow and thrive.
Technology and sustainability are shaping the future of workplace design. How are you integrating smart technologies, environmentally responsible practices, and future-ready solutions into your corporate projects?

Technology and sustainability are integral to every workplace we design, shaping environments that are intelligent, efficient and built for long-term value.
Our projects integrate smart building systems, intelligent lighting controls, energy efficient services, seamless AV infrastructure and digital technologies that support evolving ways of working. AI enabled tools and workplace analytics further enhance our ability to optimise space utilisation and create environments that respond to changing organisational needs.
Our sustainability approach embraces responsible material selection, abundant natural daylight, healthy low VOC finishes, energy conscious design and flexible planning that extends the life of the workplace. Adaptable environments continue to deliver value as organisations grow, reducing the need for future interventions designed to support both business performance and environmental responsibility.
Among the many landmark projects your firm has delivered, is there one that best exemplifies your design philosophy and innovative approach? What were the key challenges, and what makes the project particularly significant?
The Motilal Oswal HQ project is a compelling reflection of our design philosophy, bringing together business strategy, human experience and timeless design. Created for one of India’s leading financial institutions, the workplace was envisioned to embody confidence, trust, sophistication and a progressive corporate culture.

The design carefully balanced executive functions, focused work, collaboration and team engagement within a cohesive workplace experience. Formal business environments, collaborative settings, hospitality inspired amenities and social spaces were seamlessly integrated to support productivity, knowledge sharing and meaningful interactions.
Every aspect of the project, from spatial planning and material selection to lighting and detailing, was shaped around creating an environment that is elegant, efficient, adaptable and enduring.
The project exemplifies our belief that great workplace design strengthens organisational culture, elevates everyday experiences and creates lasting value for both people and business.
As workplace expectations continue to evolve, what emerging trends or design directions do you believe will redefine corporate architecture and interiors over the next decade, and how is your firm preparing for this shift?
The future of workplace design will be defined by human performance, intelligent technology and adaptable environments that evolve alongside organisations. Workplaces will increasingly become destinations that foster collaboration, creativity, learning, culture and wellbeing while supporting changing business priorities.
Artificial intelligence, workplace analytics and smart building technologies will enable more informed design decisions, creating environments that continuously respond to how people work. At the same time, hospitality inspired experiences, healthy workplace principles, sustainable design and flexible planning will become integral to every successful workplace.
At JTCPL Designs, we embrace this evolution through continuous research, technology adoption and a multidisciplinary design approach. By combining workplace strategy, design excellence and execution expertise, we create environments that are resilient, future ready and designed to deliver lasting value for both people and business.
