This festive season, give your personal spaces a refreshing makeover with thoughtfully curated fabrics, colours and textures. From elegant drapes and statement cushions to richly textured furnishings and decorative accents, discover creative ways to dress up your home and infuse every corner with the spirit of the festivities.
From sumptuous drapes and richly textured upholstery to elegant table linen and decorative accents, fabrics bring warmth, character and a celebratory spirit to interiors. This festive season, thoughtfully curated textiles offer an effortless way to transform everyday spaces into inviting settings for gatherings, celebrations and cherished moments.

Festive styling today extends beyond traditional motifs and opulent embellishments. Contemporary homes embrace a more considered approach, where heritage craftsmanship meets modern sensibilities, rich textures complement understated palettes, and carefully chosen details create a sense of occasion.
The Art of Festive Layering
Layering is central to creating a festive atmosphere. Textured cushions, jewel-toned throws, embroidered runners and accent upholstery introduce depth and visual interest. Velvet, silk, brocade and jacquard lend richness, while linen, cotton and textured blends bring relaxed elegance to contemporary interiors.

The key lies in balancing textures and patterns. A neutral living room can be refreshed with statement cushions, a richly textured throw or festive drapery. Heritageinspired motifs and intricate embroideries evoke nostalgia, while geometric patterns and abstract designs offer a contemporary interpretation of festive luxury.
Colours That Set the Mood
Colour plays a defining role in shaping the festive ambience. Deep reds, emerald greens, royal blues, burnished golds and warm ochres bring richness and vibrancy to interiors. Meanwhile, muted terracotta, dusty rose, sage green, champagne and ivory offer a more understated expression of celebration.

The interplay of colour and texture further enhances the setting. A jewel-toned velvet against a neutral backdrop, metallic embroidery on soft fabrics or tonal layering across cushions and curtains can create a sophisticated festive look that complements the home’s existing design language.
Drapery: Framing the Festive Experience
Drapes do more than frame windows; they soften architectural lines, influence natural light and shape the ambience of a room. Flowing fabrics, subtle sheens and elegant textures can lend a renewed sense of occasion to living and dining spaces.

Layering sheer curtains with heavier drapes allows flexibility throughout the day, while fabrics with a gentle lustre reflect ambient lighting beautifully. For homes with neutral interiors, introducing drapes in complementary festive hues can create a striking transformation without an extensive makeover.
The Festive Table
The dining table becomes a canvas for festive expression through embroidered linen, woven placemats, elegant napkins and richly toned runners. Whether styled with traditional motifs or contemporary patterns, thoughtfully selected textiles bring warmth and character to festive gatherings, elevating everyday dining into a memorable experience.
Craftsmanship Meets Contemporary Living

Handwoven fabrics, intricate embroideries, traditional prints and artisanal detailing celebrate India’s rich textile heritage. Contemporary interpretations of these crafts, expressed through refreshed colour palettes and versatile applications, bring individuality to modern interiors. Accent cushions, upholstery and decorative accessories offer meaningful ways to introduce craftsmanship into festive décor.
Beyond the Festive Season
The most thoughtful festive fabric choices are those that remain relevant long after the celebrations end. Versatile textiles, timeless patterns and adaptable colour palettes allow statement cushions, elegant throws and decorative runners to transition seamlessly into everyday living.

For me, festive styling is a little like turning up the volume on a home without changing the song.

I don’t believe a home needs to suddenly become “festive” through excess. What I enjoy is taking what already exists and making it feel richer through a few deliberate shifts – deeper colour, softer light, more tactile fabrics, and pieces that catch the eye in a quieter way.
Yogesh Chaudhary, Managing Director Jaipur Rugs
At Jaipur Rugs, we believe festive interiors are about creating warmth, character, and a sense of togetherness. This season, our handcrafted rugs offer an effortless way to transform spaces, bringing colour, texture, and artisanal craftsmanship into the home.

For a festive makeover, we are drawn to rich, earthy hues such as deep reds, terracotta, ochre, rust, emerald, and indigo, complemented by warm neutrals. These colours lend interiors a celebratory richness while remaining timeless. For a more understated approach, ivory, beige, taupe, and muted metallic tones can create an elegant festive backdrop.
Texture plays an equally important role. Our hand-knotted and hand-tufted rugs introduce depth and tactility, while intricate patterns and handcrafted details add a distinctive, lived-in quality. Each rug carries subtle variations that reflect the human touch behind its making.

We encourage homeowners to use rugs beyond the living room—to anchor dining spaces, define festive seating areas, elevate bedrooms, or create a welcoming entryway. Pairing them with wood, cane, brass, linen, and other handcrafted accents can further enhance the warmth of the setting.

Ultimately, festive decor should feel personal, not overdone. A thoughtfully chosen handcrafted rug can bring together colour, comfort, craftsmanship, and storytelling, creating a home that feels special throughout the festive season and beyond. This season, I would bring in handwoven cottons, silks, linens and velvets, but use them selectively: a jewel-toned cushion against a neutral sofa, an earthy red runner on a wooden table, a velvet accent beside something raw and textural. I’m especially drawn to ochres, deep reds, muted greens and burnished metallics, balanced with natural wood, brass, stone and handcrafted ceramics.

The real transformation, though, comes from layering. A rug that changes the mood underfoot, a throw that softens a chair, flowers or foliage that bring movement, and lighting that makes familiar objects suddenly feel special.
I like festive interiors to feel as though the home has dressed up, but still recognises itself. For me, that balance between celebration and familiarity is what makes a space feel truly beautiful.
Abhinav Mahajan, Director Retail, Maspar
Maspar keeps a close eye on emerging trends and evolving directions in fabrics, textures and patterns, ensuring that its collections remain contemporary, relevant and aligned with changing consumer preferences.

Festive collections have always been a highlight for the brand, offering an elevated blend of celebration, elegance and warmth for the home. This season, Maspar is focusing on rich yet sophisticated colour palettes, tactile textures and timeless decorative motifs that allow consumers to refresh their spaces without completely altering their décor.
The colour palette features rich gold, champagne and dusty blue tones blended with neutral shades of beige and grey, creating a classic aesthetic. Decorative cushions showcasing hand-embroidered techniques enhance the overall décor of the room. The palette is a harmonious mix of soft neutrals, antique gold and muted jewel tones, evoking the sophistication of royal palaces and vintage estates.

Textured weaves and embellished detailing add depth, while layered bedcovers, quilts, cushions and throws help create a complete festive look. Rich damask patterns, ornate scrolls and luxurious textures come together to create interiors that feel both regal and refined.
Overall, the festive offering is about celebrating in style, combining comfort, craftsmanship and contemporary luxury with timeless elegance and refined detailing.

The world is finally moving away from minimalism, and honestly, India never was minimal. Our homes have always been layered: the brass diya next to the framed photograph, the inherited carpet under the new coffee table. This festive season, we are leaning into exactly that. Call it cluttercore as the trend suggests; we see it as storytelling through the landscape of your home, where every object has a reason to be there. Our festive edit is built around that layering. In upholstery and furnishings, expect a palette that moves from mustard yellow through burgundy to deep olive, rich, warm tones that hold their own under festive lighting. And because Indian festivities are lived, not staged, much of it comes in stain-resistant fabrics; beautiful enough for the gathering and forgiving enough for what gatherings actually involve. In decor, we have curated across finishes- glass, brass, gold, and chrome- which is having quite the moment this season. The idea isn’t one look. It’s depth and breadth enough that whatever your home’s story is, you’ll find the pieces that tell it.

Anupriya Choudhary, Director: Saraswati Global Rugs
This festive season, our collections are built around the idea that a home makeover should feel rich, warm, and effortlessly festive.

Our Kohinoor collection leads the charge with intricate, regal patterns that bring a sense of old-world luxury into modern homes, perfect for living rooms and formal spaces that want to make a statement. The Heritage collection leans into traditional motifs and timeless tones, ideal for anyone wanting their space to feel rooted and enduring during the festivities. For homes that want understated warmth, our Niwala collection blends rich colour, refined texture and artistic detail into a hand-knotted, transitional design with festive luxury with a soft, contemporary edge that suits everyday living just as well.

Across all these collections, we use premium wool, chosen for its natural softness, durability, and rich texture. This wool holds colour beautifully, which is what gives our festive palettes that deep, luxurious finish rather than a flat, printed look. Combined with varied textures and vibrant hues, these collections let homeowners transform a space instantly, just by changing what they walk on.

For a festive home makeover, celebration begins not with excessive ornament, but with layering texture, heritage, and depth. Festive interiors call for a balance between warmth and subtle grandeur, creating spaces that feel inviting for intimate gatherings yet elevated enough for seasonal rituals. Rich, tactile fabrics form the foundation of this shift.
Luxurious hand-loomed velvets, slubbed natural linens, and heavily embroidered textiles bring immediate warmth to contemporary spaces. Incorporating jewel-toned cushions, metallic-threaded runners, and intricately quilted drapes creates subtle contrast against clean architectural lines. Colours should lean into grounded, festive palettes such as deep terracotta, warm ochre, forest greens, and antique brass accents, allowing light to play off varied surfaces throughout the day.

To elevate a room beyond standard seasonal decor, we recommend introducing collectable objects with a sense of history. Sculptural elements—whether a hand-carved wooden relief panel, an aged marble motif, or a patinated bronze figure from collections like The Collector’s Edit— anchor a living room with soulful presence. Paired with soft lighting and layered textiles, these enduring artisanal pieces give modern homes a curated, lived-in elegance that feels celebratory far beyond the festive season.
Mandeep N. Housego, Creative Director, Shades of India
For the festive season, I think of textiles as a way of changing the mood of a home without necessarily changing the home itself. There is something lovely about making a space feel warmer and more celebratory through colour, texture and small shifts in the way textiles are used, rather than introducing elements that feel overtly seasonal.
This is a time when I particularly enjoy deeper, more atmospheric colours like oxblood, aubergine, deep indigo, forest green and warm rust, which are balanced with quieter shades such as ivory, sand, warm beige and muted gold. These colours have a natural richness to them, but when they are introduced through textiles, they can feel layered and nuanced rather than overwhelming.

Velvets, textured cottons, handwoven fabrics and embroidery can each bring a different quality to a festive space, from softness and depth to warmth and visual interest. I particularly enjoy layering these against natural materials such as wood and stone. On a dining table, richly textured linens can create a sense of occasion, while cushions, throws and softer layers can bring the same warmth to living and bedroom spaces.
What I enjoy most about textiles is that they allow a home to change with the occasion while still retaining its character. The festive season can be an opportunity to bring in a little more colour, texture and warmth, but the pieces should ideally continue to have a place in the home long after the celebrations are over.

This festive season, let thoughtfully chosen fabrics, colours and textures bring a renewed sense of warmth and celebration to your home. Discover inspiring collections from leading brands to create personal spaces that feel festive, inviting and uniquely yours.
