Sans Souci Lighting, the renowned Czech lighting brand celebrated for its visionary glass craftsmanship, continues to redefine the dialogue between artistry and innovation. This year at Milano Design Week 2026, it unveils The Hour Before, an immersive presentation spanning nine installations across the city’s most prestigious design locations. A poetic collection that captures the quiet, anticipatory moments just before a space comes to life.
Anchored in the concept of anticipation, The Hour Before explores the subtle transition between stillness and experience. Key collections such as Pearl and Flux Celestial take centre stage – where textured slumped glass, organic crystal forms, and hand-placed glass elements come together to reflect shifting atmospheres, from underwater serenity to celestial movement. Each installation invites visitors to pause, observe, and connect with light as an emotional and spatial element rather than just a functional one.

Pearl captures the beauty of shells beneath the water’s surface. Organic crystal forms are delicately suspended, bringing this scenery into the interior. Its composition features striking textured slumped flat glass, crafted in custom forms, that are handmade by Sans Souci’s artisans. Flux Celestial is inspired by shifting landscapes and the cosmos. It blends flowing crystal forms with shimmering glass chatons, evoking celestial bodies in motion. Each chaton, in varying hues of amber and finished with Sans Souci’s signature nanocoating, is hand-placed with precision.
Presented across a series of prestigious locations during Milan Design Week, the showcase unfolds at Alchymia, Fiera Milano (Pavilion 15, Booth B03/B04), Alchymia Atelier (Via Durini 7), Salvioni Showroom (Via Durini 3), Sawaya & Moroni Showroom (Via Clerici 1), and the AA Consultant Office (Viale Murillo 48), offering a refined dialogue between material innovation, artisanal mastery, and contemporary design excellence.
What makes this presentation truly distinctive is its ability to transform light into a narrative. Sans Souci’s work bridges heritage with forward-thinking design. Each piece becomes more than an object – it becomes a moment suspended in time, crafted to evoke emotion, spark curiosity, and redefine how light shapes our environments.
