Internationally acclaimed Ar. Reza Kabul founder of ARK has three decades of proven expertise in designing projects of various scales and typologies. Reza has recently designed another landmark project TAJ Skyline, Ahmedabad. This meticulously designed property is the new landmark in Ahmedabad. The design team has kept in mind the changing trends in the hospitality industry, like the guest experience, comfort and convenience while designing the hotel.

Ar. Reza understands that the feel and ambience have to be immensely attractive, and so are the comfort and functionality of the property. Adding insight on the design and concept of the hotel Reza Kabul adds, “We are here to fulfil such increasing demands. In today’s era, people are inclined towards appealing hotel rooms and fine restaurants. The Taj Skyline embraces the local culture of Gujarat and India in all forms.”

The entryway installation created by a lighting designer is an ode to Navratri, largely celebrated culture in Ahmedabad, and across the country. ARK has skillfully explored the core value and added a localized design element. The admirable lighting installation with its forms and waves is inspired by the swirls of the flowy ghagra while women dance away to their favourite Navaratri songs. The Abla work is depicted by the lenses which will refract light and create unique illusions in the space. Two massive sculptures depicting the karigars that spend endless days creating intricate patterns on wood to stamp fabrics have created the beautiful final product. Block print motifs are a major design element across the Taj Skyline. It is subtly visible in the backdrop of the reception, the lit entryway ceiling, and the all-day dining dividers. The designs seamlessly blend into the overall aesthetic of the space.

The peacock motif is evident across the Taj Skyline, in the artwork, furnishings, as well as the overall colour palette which is representative of grace, joy, beauty and love. The green and blue colours of the peacock in furnishing complement the brown colour of natural wood. The Taj Skyline embraces Indian culture in all forms, and the design incorporates elements close to the local culture of Gujarat.

The Indian Peacock, the national bird of India, is a symbol of grace, joy, beauty and love. We have tried to incorporate similar features and a touch of our national bird in our design. This also includes inspirations from the intricate latticework windows at the Sidi Saiyyed Mosque in Ahmedabad, as well as the Gamthi motifs of block print that date back to the medieval ages of Gujarat.

The Taj Skyline embraces the culture of Gujarat in all forms and incorporates
elements close to the local culture and context of the state. The artwork across the walls of Shamiana reflects various aspects of monochromatic art pieces by local artists. The accent wall here is representative of the local architecture. You can see various landmarks across the state that encompass the design aesthetic of the state of Gujarat.

The Moroccan Rooftop Restaurant at the TAJ Skyline reflects a similar design aesthetic that we experience across the entire property. The aboriginal Moroccan designs include extensive latticework used as perforations and partition walls and symmetrical square designs which can be considered parallel to block prints.

The Taj Skyline offers a seamless guest experience right from the entryway to
the room. The selection of materials keeps in mind that the over aesthetic, and the ambience is immensely welcoming, comfortable and functional.
