Artistic Fans

Once chosen almost entirely for their utility, ceiling fans are now also considered to complement the interiors just as naturally as every other visible element. It is this changing approach towards home design that has inspired The Fan Studio to create handcrafted designer ceiling fans inspired by India’s artistic and architectural heritage. The Fan Studio chose to approach the category differently. From the very beginning, the focus extended beyond cooling performance to creating luxury ceiling fans that could sit naturally within thoughtfully designed interiors. That philosophy continues to shape every collection. A walk through the company’s collections quickly reveals influences drawn from some of India’s most celebrated artistic and architectural traditions. The painted narratives of Odisha’s Pattachitra tradition, the rich ornamentation of Tanjore art, the symmetry found in Mughal architecture and the enduring beauty of Jaipur’s Sanganeri patterns appear in forms that feel surprisingly natural inside present-day homes. The Monarch collection celebrates India’s artistic traditions through Monarch Patra Chitra, inspired by Odisha’s Pattachitra art; Monarch Tanjore, featuring intricate Tanjore-inspired detailing with gold accents; and Monarch Handpainted, distinguished by individually hand-painted blades finished in antique bronze. The Shalimar collection presents another interpretation through Shalimar Handpainted, Shalimar Sanganeri Leaf, Shalimar Antique Silver and Shalimar Leaf, drawing inspiration from Mughal ornamentation, Jaipur’s Sanganeri tradition, heritage finishes and nature-inspired forms.

Heritage Bliss

Tramontina, has introduced Heritage Iron, a next￾generation cookware range created specifically for Indian kitchens. Some cookware is simply part of the history of a kitchen. Iron tawas and kadhais have been used across Indian homes for generations, valued for their durability, heat performance and health benefits. But as kitchens evolved, so did the expectations from everyday cookware that were lighter, easier to maintain and designed for contemporary homes. Tramontina’s Heritage Iron range is an attempt to bring these two worlds together. The Heritage Iron range is made from an alloy comprising 99% iron and up to 1% carbon, with no chemical coating. As the cookware is seasoned with cooking oils over time, its surface develops natural non-stick properties, allowing it to become increasingly familiar to the cook using it. It also combines the heat retention associated with traditional iron cookware with a more responsive cooking experience. But recreating traditional cookware was never the objective.

The range has been designed around the nuances of Indian cooking itself. From dosas that require a tawa capable of holding and distributing heat evenly, to the high-heat cooking associated with woks and the versatility of kadhais, different forms and thicknesses have been considered for the way each is actually used in an Indian kitchen.

Beautiful Art

Alaya Artistry is a Mumbai-based curatorial studio founded in January 2026. Alaya, a Sanskrit word evoking a sanctuary or dwelling, is a space where nature becomes art through material, form and human interpretation. The studio brings together paintings, art, crafted objects and collectables that share a connection with the natural world through the materials they are made from, the forms they take, or the stories they carry. The result is a considered collection of distinctive, tactile pieces that invite a deeper connection with the spaces around us. When the founders first discovered Lotus Leaf Art and brought it into their own home, they were drawn to the sense of calm and spirituality with which it elevated their space. They realised this unique, nature-led art wasn’t available in India or the subcontinent, and felt it was something worth sharing. That became the inspiration behind Alaya Artistry, which today is one of the few places in the world showcasing Lotus Leaf Art alongside other rare, nature￾led works. Alaya Artistry is an experiential space where rare, nature-led art comes together under one roof. Every visit is an invitation to slow down, experience the pieces in person anddiscover the stories behind them.

Enduring Beauty

Wood has the rare ability to make architecture feel both timeless and deeply personal. Across interiors by IDEAS Jaipur, it is treated not as a finishing material but as an architectural element, shaping designs through craftsmanship, proportion and meticulous detailing.

Intricately carved wardrobes become works of art, where scrolling botanical motifs emerge from richly stained timber with remarkable depth and precision. Dressing alcoves are framed in warm wood panelling, paired with marble countertops, antique brass picture lights and ornate mirrors that lend a quiet sense of refinement. Every carved panel reveals the patience and skill of master artisans, transforming functional storage into sculptural focal points.

Elsewhere, handcrafted timber takes on a more restrained expression. Full￾height panelling wraps walls in a rich walnut finish, creating rhythm through carefully proportioned mouldings and recessed profiles. Classical fireplaces, carved mantels and finely detailed cornices are complemented by bespoke furniture with turned legs, curved silhouettes and decorative joinery that speak to a tradition of cabinetmaking rarely seen today.

The warmth of natural wood continues through exposed ceiling beams, herringbone timber flooring and custom doors, where grain, texture and craftsmanship remain visible rather than concealed. Rich finishes are balanced with soft upholstery, woven rugs and natural light, allowing the material to retain its depth without overwhelming the interiors. Even smaller details, from carved mirror frames and decorative mouldings to handcrafted consoles and cabinetry, reflect an unwavering attention to finish.

IDEAS Jaipur has drawn upon India’s architectural heritage to create spaces that feel rooted yet relevant. These interiors demonstrate the studio’s enduring appreciation for fine woodcraft, where every carved surface, panel and joinery detail contributes to spaces that are rich in character, history and enduring craftsmanship.
