This Gurgaon office transcends its modest size to create a cohesive and inspiring work environment

Designed by Envisage, this Gurgaon office transcends its modest size to create a cohesive and inspiring work environment.

In the dynamic urban fabric of Gurgaon, a workspace design project set within a compact footprint showcases how smart spatial planning and a refined design sensibility can transform limitations into compelling opportunities. Designed by Meena Murthy Kakkar, Partner & Design Head and Vishal Kakkar, Partner & Business Head at Envisage, this boutique office is located in the prime real estate sector of Gurgaon. Meena says, “The workstation reflects not just our design expertise but also our passion for pushing boundaries. Breaking away from the straight line norms in contemporary offices, The Mini Office introduces a captivating interplay of arches, strategically placed to infuse a formal setting with elegance. Whether outlined in sleek black aluminum or seamlessly integrated into the walls as thoughtful niches, these arches are a testament to our commitment to innovative design solutions.” Although being compact in size, the office has been designed to maximize both aesthetics and functionality, ensuring the space feels open, welcoming, and luxurious.

Envisage is a leading design firm known for creating spaces that seamlessly blend sophistication, functionality, and a strong sense of identity. They specialize in interiors that not only look visually compelling but also reflect the ethos and personality of their clients. Every project is a carefully curated experience, where design, materials, and detailing come together to create environments that leave a lasting impression.

Sharing more insights about the client’s brief and requirements, Meena says, “The client required a mini meet-and-greet office in Gurgaon for their pharma company. The brief was to reflect the firm’s credibility and ethos while maintaining a sense of luxury through curated art, materials, and detailing. The office needed to be functional for workstations and personal spaces while providing an impressive environment for client interactions.” “The design itself communicates the client’s identity, credibility, and ethos. Every element—from furniture and artwork to accessories—has been thoughtfully curated to create a cohesive and memorable first impression”, adds, Vishal.

The office redefines luxury within a smaller space. Hand-picked furniture, accessories, rugs, and artwork elevate the environment, creating a plush, sophisticated experience that contrasts with the typical perception of smaller workspaces. The office follows a contemporary design theme characterized by bold geometry, layered partitions, and visual connectivity. “Luxury is expressed through the curated selection of furniture, materials, accent colours, and artwork, while functional zones are seamlessly integrated to support both personal work and client engagement”, informs Vishal. The reception welcomes one with its stylish entry with arches that makes a strong statement and sets the tone for the workspace. A six-person workstation tucked to the side, offers a visual connection to the boss cabin, thus maintaining openness. Designed to replicate a home office, the boss cabin includes a personal workstation with no visitor chair, ensuring utmost privacy, while the six￾seater meeting room located immediately upon entry has been designed to offer seamless client interactions. Meena informs, “The office prioritizes internal engagement spaces, visual openness and strategic layout create a sense of flow throughout the environment.”

Confronted with the challenge of a small floor plate, the design team saw it as an opportunity for creativity and clever design. Further, they successfully navigated the layout challenges posed by two substantial columns, which made the space look even smaller. Instead of obstacles, these columns became strategic dividers, ensuring minimal disruption to the visual and physical flow of the space. Glass was used to enhance visual connections, creating a seamless flow and not hindering the privacy of places that demanded it. Meena informs, “Our carefully curated luxury mood board, inspired partially by an industrial theme, sets the tone for the space. Monochrome colour schemes make the space look bigger, and Italian and wooden flooring give it the luxury definition within a limited footprint. The selection of artwork, rugs, and decor lighting adds a touch of sophistication, creating a unique and captivating work environment.”

This office is a place where material honesty and spatial intelligence, come together. Designed to support both the practical demands of a modern office and the aspirational identity of its users, the project stands as a microcosm of thoughtful, contemporary design— proof that even within a smaller footprint, architecture can find room to breathe, adapt, and inspire. The team recalls that balancing personal work areas with client￾facing engagement zones, ensuring natural light, and maintaining visual connectivity without overcrowding required careful planning and precise detailing. As far as, material and colour palate and lightings are concerned, the team has chosen rich and luxurious materials to elevate the aesthetic, complemented by bold accent colours. Furniture, rugs, and artwork have been hand￾picked to create a sophisticated and contemporary visual experience. Eco-friendly laminates and scratch￾proof surfaces have been used, ensuring sustainability and durability within the design, while lighting has been designed to complement natural light while providing sufficient artificial illumination, ensuring the office remains bright, welcoming, and visually appealing.

This Gurgaon office is a study in how constraints can catalyze creativity. By working within the limits of size, height, and daylight, the design team has produced a workspace that is not only functionally robust but also experientially rich.
