The Usha Kiran Residence designed by Shibani Mehta, Principle Designer of Naksh Design Studio is a harmonious blend of tranquillity and opulence. Every space in this zen oasis is meticulously curated to foster peace, mindfulness, and a deep connection to nature.
The journey begins with an intriguing entrance, featuring a striking patterned main door and a complementary safety door. Explaining the design process, Shibani says, “The main door’s elegant PU veneer finish and the interplay of clear and tinted glass create a visually appealing and functional entryway. A busy grill pattern adds a touch of sophistication. Stepping into the main passage, the gaze is drawn to a captivating curved partition illuminated by a mesmerizing play of light. This focal point is further enhanced by a grand Buddha painting and a dramatic round mirror.”
The expansive living and dining area exudes elegance and comfort. Neutral tones are punctuated by carefully selected contrasting elements. The eight-seater dining table, topped with a luxurious grey marble lazy Susan and supported by a fluted PU base, is a striking centrepiece. The purple chairs add a vibrant touch, while the ceiling design complements the table’s grandeur.
In the living area, a mix of printed and plain fabrics creates a cosy and inviting atmosphere. A stunning black faux leather centre table and a unique statement piece on the sleek black display unit elevate the space. A patterned veneer panel serves as a striking backdrop for the swing, enhancing the overall aesthetic. “Separated by a sliding door, the den offers a serene retreat. The blue TV unit with a statement marble leg support is a captivating focal point.
The same veneer panelling used in the living area creates a cohesive look”, informs Shibani. The master bedroom is a haven of tranquillity and luxury. A harmonious blend of materials, including random mirror panelling, sliding window shutters, two-tone back-painted glass wardrobes, a gold flappable dressing mirror, and intricate mouldings, creates a truly unique space. The bathroom is a masterpiece of design, featuring a stunning combination of grey and pink marble-effect tiles. Gold accents and fluted panelling elevate the space to new heights.
The son’s room is a sophisticated blend of brown, grey, black, beige, and a pop of green. The daughter’s room is bright and airy, with a serene colour palette of white, blue, and pink. The grandparent’s room is a timeless fusion of traditional and modern elements, featuring vintage-inspired mouldings, a deep orange accent wall, and a chevron-patterned veneer wardrobe.
The kitchen seamlessly blends form and function. A sleek, minimalist design conceals ample storage within the flushmounted door. The interior, adorned with stunning green tiles and gold accents, offers a luxurious touch. A culinary delight, it features a stunning hexagonal flower-patterned tile dado as the focal point. Grey laminate shutters complement the tiles, while a deep sea-green accent on the tall unit adds a vibrant touch.
