Nestled in DLF Aralias, this home, designed by Saba Kapoor, Co-Founder, Nivasa, is a fusion of contemporary and classic styles, embracing a diverse range of aesthetics, allowing for a blend that feels both playful and personalised.

A renovation project, it was completely aligned with Nivasa’s ethos and the final result was a house preserving much of the original aesthetic, interspersed with a brand-new design language. While the original walnut wood is retained in the new look of the house, while introducing new materials, textures, and furniture pieces to elevate its essence. The interplay of black and white tones, alongside playful organic shapes, injects a sense of fun and youthful energy reflective of the couple.

“Serving as the cosy heart of the house, the living room is where comfort meets contemporary flair. Featuring a rich and thoughtfully curated colour palette, this room is all about a delightful textural variety, adding depth to the space. The stunning L-shaped sofa featuring sleek, rounded edges effortlessly flowing into the seat and backrest is a unique structure, striking the perfect balance between modern design and inviting comfort, creating a space where you just want to sink in and relax with your loved ones. Right opposite to this is the chaise connecting the space with the bar behind, which is a modern masterpiece. With three white seats perched on a sleek metal bench with striking black contrasting strips, this simple yet incredibly impressive design adds a touch of sophistication to the room. The two rotating poufs on the side showcase a beautiful colour-blocking of grey and black completes the look of the room. Despite colours from opposite ends of the spectrum, the living space showcases a seamless blend, creating a space that’s eclectic yet harmonious. This space truly embodies Nikita’s vision of a space that stands out while still blending in perfectly with the overall aesthetic of the home,” explains Saba Kapoor, Co-Founder, Nivasa.

One of the highlights of this house is the bar area, commanding attention with its impressive 8-foot length, becoming a focal point in the space. The bar, adorned with cane back and subtle ombre metal work, epitomises the home’s understated yet stylish approach. It’s a harmonious blend of personalities and aesthetics, coming together to create a truly inviting and unique living space. What’s unique about the bar is its rectangular shape, accented by these inviting curved lines along the front facade. But what really sets it apart is the stunning gradation on the facade, meticulously handcrafted by Nivasa’s master artisans. It transitions seamlessly from a deep jet black to a warm, natural brown hue reminiscent of natural wood. The cane at the back adds another layer of texture with its beautiful grain, making it incredibly tactile and visually captivating. The bar top is crafted from a gorgeous grey marble that spans the entire width of the bar, adding a touch of sophistication. This piece truly embodies the perfect blend of contemporary and classic aesthetics, seamlessly integrating into the space with its unique charm and elegance.

Crafted from reclaimed wood, the dining table is not only a stunning piece of furniture but also a testament to sustainability. Its top, salvaged from other sources, showcases a beautiful open grain pattern, highlighting the natural beauty of the wood. The sleek metal legs provide a sturdy base without detracting from the table’s top. Beyond its environmental benefits, incorporating sustainable elements into interior design adds a layer of consciousness and responsibility to the space. It serves as a reminder of the need to make mindful choices in our consumption habits and contributes to an eco-friendlier lifestyle. In this context, the dining table not only serves as a functional piece but also as a symbol of our commitment to preserving and protecting the planet for future generations

The dining and living space is connected with a balcony overlooking a breathtaking view of the lush green golf course outside. This is where the house’s piece-de-resistance rests – the bird cage swing – one of Nivasa’s most iconic pieces, blending whimsy with playful functionality. The bird cage swing here is customized in a gorgeous black, with its intricate yet modern design, featuring straight-line patterns that create an open feel, perfectly aligns with the space. Contrasting this is the white seater- an extension of the story Nivasa crafted inside the home, and tranquillity amidst the beauty of nature.

One of the beautiful bedrooms features the Kerie Woven bed, a testament to Nivasa’s commitment to innovation in design. At the heart of the Keirei Collection lies a design philosophy rooted in the ethos of Tsundoku, a Japanese term advocating for a perpetual pursuit of knowledge and curiosity.
