Suneil C Ajbani, Chairman of Deluxe Veneers, discusses the brand’s journey as a design￾led veneer company, highlighting its focus on material innovation, texture-rich surfaces, and an expanding global presence.

Sculpting Surfaces Through Veneers Deluxe Veneers has built a strong presence over the years, what have been the defining milestones in your journey?

Over the past two decades, Deluxe Veneers has evolved into a design-led veneer and wood panel brand driven by innovation, craftsmanship, and a global outlook.

A significant milestone in our journey has been the launch of our 6,000 sq. ft. Experience Centre in Worli, a dedicated space where architects and designers can explore veneers and wood panel solutions in an immersive environment.

Equally important has been the development of our 50,000 sq. ft. state-of-the-art manufacturing facility in Bhiwandi, one of Mumbai’s pioneering veneer production units. This has strengthened our ability to maintain strict quality standards while expanding our product capabilities.

Today, we offer 300+ Natural, Dyed, and Designer Veneers, including internationally curated collections. We are also recognised for having the world’s largest range of fluted veneers with 576 standard variants, along with an extensive embossed veneer collection offering nearly 3,000 design possibilities.

More recently, we have begun exporting to international markets—an important step in taking Indian craftsmanship and veneer innovation to a global audience.

Which veneer collections or finishes are currently resonating most with architects and designers?

Architects and designers today are gravitating toward veneers that combine natural authenticity with strong texture and design character.

Natural grain veneers in oak, walnut, and teak tones continue to remain timeless favourites for their warmth and organic beauty. At the same time, fluted and embossed veneers are gaining significant popularity for the architectural depth and visual rhythm they introduce into spaces.

There is also growing demand for dyed and engineered veneers, which provide colour consistency and creative flexibility for contemporary interiors.

Overall, the preference is shifting toward tactile, design￾forward surfaces that bring both material authenticity and architectural dimension to interiors.

How important is customisation, and how do you collaborate on bespoke requirements?

Customisation has become essential today, as every project seeks a distinct material identity rather than a standard solution.

At Deluxe Veneers, collaboration begins at the concept stage. We work closely with architects and interior designers to understand the design intent, following which our team develops bespoke veneer selections, finishes, textures, and colour palettes tailored to the project.

Our in-house manufacturing capabilities allow us to prototype and sample quickly, ensuring the final material aligns with both the aesthetic vision and technical requirements of the space.

This collaborative approach enables us to transform veneers into highly personalised design elements for each project.

Are there any recent innovations in finishes, textures, or applications you would like to share with our professional readers?

The veneer industry is undergoing a significant shift—from flat decorative finishes to highly textural, architectural surfaces.

Innovations today are focused on deep textures such as fluted, embossed, and three-dimensional veneers, which create dramatic light and shadow effects while adding spatial depth.

Veneers are also being used far more expansively. Beyond furniture, designers are increasingly incorporating them across feature walls, ceilings, doors, and large architectural panelling, creating seamless and cohesive design environments.

Advancements in manufacturing technology now allow greater precision, consistency, and more efficient use of timber, positioning veneer as a sustainable, design-forward material for contemporary architecture and interiors.

What sets Deluxe Veneers apart from any other veneer company?

Deluxe Veneers stands apart through its uncompromising focus on quality, transparency, and manufacturing excellence.

We operate as a factory-owned showroom, which allows us complete control over the production process. Our focus is on freshly pressed veneers, ensuring that every sheet delivered maintains the highest standards of quality and durability.

Transparency is also central to our philosophy. Each veneer sheet is accompanied by a manufacturing certification, giving customers full confidence in the authenticity and origin of the material.

Additionally, our direct factory-to-customer model eliminates middlemen, ensuring that clients receive premium-quality veneers at the right value.

This combination of fresh production, certified quality, and direct supply is what truly differentiates Deluxe Veneers.

How do you tailor offerings across residential, hospitality, and commercial segments?

Each segment demands a different balance of aesthetics, durability, and scale.

For residential spaces, the focus is on warmth, elegance, and customised natural finishes that enhance the intimacy of a home.

In hospitality projects, designers often seek more expressive surfaces—textures such as fluted or embossed veneers that create visual impact while offering durability for high-traffic environments.

For commercial spaces, consistency and scalability become key. Engineered and designed veneers are particularly effective here, as they offer uniformity, efficiency, and ease of maintenance across larger applications.

“At Deluxe Veneers, our goal is not just to supply veneers, but to elevate them into design-led materials that inspire architects, define spaces, and celebrate the timeless beauty of wood.”
