In the vibrant heart of Lower Parel, Mumbai, where the city’s skyline meets the ocean’s vast expanse, a new residential project designed Malcolm Daruwalla, Principal Architect, Seedle and Burgis Daruwalla, Principal Designer, Seedle has emerged as a testament to modern luxury.
This residential apartment spans a generous 5,000 square feet. Perched over 200 feet above the bustling city streets, the home provides panoramic vistas of both the vibrant city skyline and the expansive ocean, offering a serene escape from the urban hustle below.
The design team has created a home that beautifully marries contemporary design with timeless elegance. “The design brief was clear: create a modern home that seamlessly integrates the old with the new. The goal was to craft a space that radiates understated luxury while fostering a warm and inviting atmosphere. The clients envisioned a residence characterized by expansive open areas, the use of natural materials, and an abundance of natural light—elements intended to create a serene and welcoming environment.” Says Malcolm Daruwalla, Principal Architect, Seedle.
The clients sought a home that epitomizes understated luxury, a place where every detail is thoughtfully chosen to combine comfort with sophistication. Their lifestyle values both elegance and coziness, guiding the choice of natural materials, earthy colour schemes, and sculptural furniture. The aim was to create an abode that feels timeless and serene, with large open spaces flowing harmoniously and bathed in natural light to enhance the sense of tranquility.
The dining area is a focal point of the home, designed to be both functional and visually striking. The centerpiece is a slow-moulded dining table, a testament to craftsmanship, surrounded by handpicked chairs that combine comfort with artistic flair. The space is not just for dining but a setting for family gatherings and celebrations. The walls are adorned with mixed-media artworks and frames capturing family memories, creating a personal and cherished atmosphere.
