In a world where design is often synonymous with luxury and allure, GlamFusion Studio —is a first-of-its-kind destination spearheaded by founders Sarika Maheshwari and Meghna Kaul. Meghna Kaul, Founder MJK Design Studio, has mastered the art of blending aesthetics with the nuanced needs of modern living, while Sarika, is a homepreneur determined to create an impact in the glamour world.

Founded in 2015, MJK Design Studio has grown into distinguished name in luxury interiors, committed to designing spaces that resonate with the cultural and personal tastes of each client. Their latest endeavor, TMS by GlamFusion Studio, exemplifies this unique approach, transforming 800 square feet of bare space into a serene, inviting sanctuary at Ten X Vibes, Raymond Realty, Thane. The project, led by Kaul in
collaboration with Neha Preetesh Rai, Founder and Personal Style Consultant at The Makeover Studio (TMS), redefines salon design with its thoughtful and refined layout.

When approached by Neha Preetesh Rai for this project, Meghna embraced the challenge of reimagining a salon as a tranquil retreat where beauty and grooming are elevated to an experience of rejuvenation. “The clients wanted a space that conveyed the luxury and spirit of the beauty industry while setting a calming atmosphere for clients,” says Meghna. The goal was to create a harmonious and flowing layout, one that spoke to the essence of GlamFusion Studio’s identity while accommodating diverse services, from styling to spa treatments.

In a compact space of 800 sq ft, the team at MJK Design Studio managed to design a fluid space that accommodates a reception area, waiting lounge, hair styling stations, hair wash area, manicure and pedicure zones, facial and spa areas, a pantry, and a washroom. This challenge required exceptional space planning to create a cohesive flow while offering both open and semi-private areas.

“We wanted the salon to feel like sanctuary,” shares Meghna “an escape from the fast-paced world outside.” The design balances spaciousness with intimacy, ensuring that each zone feels distinctly part of the whole without compromising functionality. Achieving this required a delicate use of geometrics and natural lighting, maximizing the sense of openness without disturbing the layout.

The concept for TMS by GlamFusion Studio marries modern elegance with warm, inviting tones, creating an atmosphere that’s equal parts chic and serene. This design language is achieved through a combination of classical elements and contemporary style—a nod to timeless luxury viewed through a modern lens. The use of tropical wallpapers, cladded mirrors, and custom mood lighting contributes to the salon’s tranquil environment. Black louvers, beige walls, and lush planters lend depth and texture, while touches of maroon and gold add a hint of grandeur.

A core aspect of the design is its minimalistic, clean layout, influenced by the heightened awareness of hygiene post-COVID. Kaul emphasizes that cleanliness extends beyond the aesthetic appeal, as clients now expect spaces that feel hygienic and clutter-free. “With fewer touchpoints, clients can be assured of a safe, hygienic experience,” she explains.

Neutral tones like warm beige and gentle ivory lend a calm, versatile base, while sleek furniture and minimal embellishments keep the interiors looking polished and sophisticated. The minimalist design also allows each functional element—like seating, storage, and styling stations—to blend seamlessly, creating an ambiance that’s both luxurious and approachable.

The lighting design at TMS by GlamFusion Studio combines functionality and ambiance through a layered approach. Ambient lighting softly fills the space, creating a serene atmosphere, while task lighting above styling chairs provides focused brightness for precision work. Accent lighting draws attention to focal points, such as retail displays and the waiting area, enhancing visual appeal. Vanity lighting around mirrors ensures an even glow, reducing shadows for optimal beauty services. Finally, decorative lighting, including backlit signage and gold-plated accents, adds personality and character, tying the entire design together with a sophisticated touch.
