This residence, designed by Oolenna Studio reinterprets classical elegance for contemporary family living

This residence, designed by Oolenna Studio reinterprets classical elegance for contemporary family living, where heritage detailing, bespoke craftsmanship, and modern functionality come together with quiet sophistication.

“In a home where every marble vein tells a story, luxury isn’t loud—it’s quietly unforgettable,” says Anmol Bawa Guliani, Principal Designer, Oolenna Studio. Set within the coveted Suncity Platinum Towers in Gurgaon, Terra Platinum is a 3,150 sq. ft. residence that unfolds as a carefully choreographed narrative of classical elegance and modern-day comfort. Conceived and executed entirely by Oolenna Studio, the home was delivered as a complete, turnkey experience to a young family of four with two energetic children under seven, where every spatial decision, material choice, and styling detail was thoughtfully resolved before the family walked in.

The brief was clear yet ambitious: create a classical home rooted in timeless design principles, but one that responds intuitively to the rhythms of contemporary family life. The result is a seamless dialogue between heritage and modernity—arched forms meet modular precision, bespoke craftsmanship is balanced with everyday functionality, and opulence is expressed with restraint.

The arrival sequence sets the tone. Arched passageways lend architectural rhythm and recall European classical influences, while lantern-style lighting casts a warm, intimate glow. Intricately patterned Sabyasachi wallpapers add depth and cultural nuance, layered thoughtfully so they enrich the space without overwhelming it. The palette is luxurious yet eminently liveable—warm neutrals offset by deep jewel tones, marbles with gentle veining, and brass accents that shimmer subtly.

Every texture, from the silky panelling finishes to richly upholstered furniture, has been selected for both visual harmony and emotional resonance. In this residence, space planning was approached holistically, with each area imagined as part of a seamless whole.

The living area forms the heart of the home, designed to accommodate both intimate family moments and larger gatherings. Arches, bespoke wallpapers, marble flooring, and brass detailing come together to create a refined yet welcoming environment. The dining area, positioned to flow naturally between the living space and kitchen, continues the language of marble and heritage-inspired detailing. Statement lighting anchors the space, making it equally suited for everyday meals and formal entertaining.

In contrast, the kitchen adopts a sleeker expression—modular, highly functional, and precise in its storage solutions. Clean lines, durable surfaces, and efficient planning ensure that practicality integrates effortlessly with the home’s classical￾modern aesthetic.

A serene puja space offers a quiet counterpoint. Minimal in expression, with soft lighting and subtle finishes, it feels distinct yet connected to the larger home— designed as a calm retreat for reflection.

The entertainment room balances indulgence with versatility. Rich wall treatments and tailored panelling allow it to transition seamlessly from relaxed family evenings to social gatherings, without ever compromising on luxury.

Marble plays a starring role throughout Terra Platinum, extending beyond flooring to wrap around furniture, define the bar area, and form sculptural statement walls. Its continuity anchors the home’s grandeur while lending it a timeless quality.

Equally compelling is the wallpaper narrative. Each space features a custom-designed pattern—no two walls are alike—yet all belong to the same visual family. In the guest room, classical frames and specially commissioned artworks enhance the sense of quiet luxury, reinforcing the home’s layered storytelling.

Brass accents introduce understated opulence, while carefully selected fabrics and upholstery add warmth and tactile depth. Every material was chosen not only for its aesthetic value, but also for durability and longevity.

While the formal areas lean into sophistication, the home embraces playfulness where it matters most. The children’s playroom is a burst of colour and imagination, complete with a wall-climbing installation and an energetic palette that encourages creativity.

Practicality underpins the design throughout. All panelling has been executed in modular formats, ensuring precision craftsmanship that can evolve over time without disrupting the overall aesthetic—an important consideration for a growing family.

Bedrooms, too, are deeply personal. The master suite is refined and elegant, while the children’s rooms reflect their personalities through playful elements, bespoke wallpapers, curated art, and layered textiles— each space unique, yet unmistakably part of the larger design language.

Lighting at Terra Platinum functions as a storytelling tool. Lantern-style fixtures at the entrance establish intimacy, while statement pendants over the dining table create visual focus. Ambient lighting is layered with accent lights to highlight textures like marble and wallpaper. The moods shift subtly—from warm and inviting in the living spaces, to serene in the puja area, and dynamic in the children’s zones—shaping how each space is experienced.

Vastu principles were integrated subtly into the planning, particularly in the orientation of the puja space and the consideration of natural light and ventilation. Rather than dictating the design, these principles were woven in quietly, ensuring harmony without a formulaic outcome.

What truly distinguishes Terra Platinum is its completeness. As a turnkey project, the family entered a home where everything—from the proportion of a cornice to the placement of a candlestick—had already been thoughtfully considered. There was no chaos of moving in, only the quiet pleasure of inhabiting a space designed precisely for them.

“Every corner of this home is a conversation between the past we revere and the present we live in,” reflects Anmol Bawa Guliani. For Oolenna Studio, Terra Platinum was never about chasing trends, but about crafting a home with emotional depth—one that will age gracefully and continue to tell its story over time.
