Thakur School of Architecture & Planning, Mumbai, celebrated its annual festival EPOCH 2025 on August 13–14. This year’s theme, “Swattva – Believe in the Self”, with the tagline “Embrace Your Essence”, was reflected across all events, exhibitions, and cultural showcases during the two-day celebration.
The highlight of the festival was the student exhibition, featuring works in two categories—Tattva (Architecture) and Sattva (Interior Design). The exhibitions were inaugurated by internationally acclaimed architect Vinay Patil, who was the Chief Guest, along with Kanika Bawa, Interior Designer and Guest of Honour, and Swati Balgi, Chief Editor of Smart Home World and Consulting Editor of Society Interiors and Design, as the Elite Guest.

Addressing budding architects and interior designers, Ar. Vinay Patil emphasized the importance of ethical practice in design, urging students to make responsible use of knowledge and remain contextually sensitive in their work. Interior Designer Kanika Bawa inspired students to challenge conventional boundaries, think fearlessly, and present ideas with originality, drawing from her own journey and projects.

The festival also marked the launch of the institutional magazine “Lumiere (Jyotirgamaya)”, a reflection of the institute’s vision, values, and creative contributions from students and faculty.
The campus came alive with innovative art installations, ranging from parametric and laser-cut sculptures to handcrafted works, drawing appreciation from visitors, including architects, designers, consultants, parents, and students.

Awards were presented to top performers in Architecture and Interior Design, along with recognitions for excellence in sports, social engagement, green building design, and industry innovation. Dr. Sanjay Chaturvedi, special guest, lauded the institute’s pioneering Master’s program in Real Estate Development and pledged his support in creating industry collaborations and placement opportunities for students.
As part of its community outreach, the institute welcomed local residents, NGOs, and urban governance representatives to the exhibition. The festival concluded with vibrant cultural performances, celebrating Indian culture through music, dance, drama, and more.

The exhibition remains open for public viewing on campus until the end of August, offering visitors a chance to experience the creativity and innovation of the students of Thakur School of Architecture & Planning.
