Edmont by Tushar Mistry Design Studio surrenders itself to the beauty of sheer mono-hued elegance, celebrated through classic yet modern luxury.
Sprawling across an area of 1,600 sq. ft. the Edmont apartment, designed by Ar. Tushar Mistry of Tushar Mistry Design Studio redefines chic and sophistication as the driving force behind its remarkable interior design style. Diversified through monotones, yet offering a seamless assembly of curated tones, the interiors finely boasts the ethos of subtle simplicity.
Located in the suburbs of Kandivali, Mumbai, the abode was designed to be a warm and elegant space, free from clutter and unnecessary flourishes, with a focus on modern interior design. Sharing insights of the client’s brief, Tushar Mistry, Principal Architect/Designer, Tushar Mistry Design Studio says, “The client’s brief was to create a space that felt inviting yet sophisticated, ensuring a seamless balance between aesthetics and functionality. From the outset, the design team defined a style centred around clean lines, a monochromatic colour palette, and the use of natural materials, all of which contributed to the space’s sense of comfort and personality.”
One of the key elements in the design is the warm colour palette, particularly the golden tones reminiscent of sunset, which were used to brighten the space and create a cosy atmosphere. “This warm colour paired with natural light further enhances the space’s inviting quality. Materials such as walnut veneer, black brushed metal, bronze mirrors, and textured paint were selected to complement this palette, adding richness and depth to the overall design. The combination of these elements ensures that the space feels both personal and timeless”, informs Tushar.
The design process began by defining the style and understanding the specifics of the space, which allowed the team to plan the layout effectively. Once the layout was set, the colour palette and material choices were finalized, ensuring that every element of the design worked cordially. Furniture and lighting were carefully considered to match the style and enhance the functionality of the space.
“A standout feature of this residence is its focus on creating a beautiful and functional environment that reflects the personality of the space while also integrating modern conveniences”, adds, Tushar. Smart lighting, heating, and security systems were incorporated to ensure efficiency and convenience, making the space as practical as it is visually appealing. These smart systems are seamlessly integrated into the design, allowing for ease of use without detracting from the overall aesthetic.
The project makes a mark with its warm ambience that is achieved through a thoughtful selection of materials and finishes that evoke a sense of elegance and comfort. The design is timeless yet contemporary, staying current with evolving design trends while ensuring that the space will remain appealing for years to come. “One of the challenges faced during the design process was choosing materials that would not only enhance the look of the apartment but also withstand the demands of high-traffic areas. By addressing this challenge, the team ensured that the space would be both beautiful and durable”, concludes Tushar.
