The design of this residence exemplifies a modern Indian contemporary style enriched with beautiful traditional elements. Ensuring flawless execution is Jeetendra, Head of Projects at SK Design Studio. With a background in engineering, IT and project management, he brings technical expertise, discipline, and transparency to each project. Jeetendra ensures seamless communication between clients, designers, and on-site teams, enabling smooth workflows and timely completion. His experience in executing over 100 projects makes him a strong pillar of the organization.
For this 3 BHK home transformation, the clients approached SK Design Studio with clear expectations and a desire for unique, well-planned interiors. Sharing the clients brief, Sarika, says, “They wanted a spacious, welcoming living room featuring a beautiful jhula as the focal element—something traditional yet modern. Their vision for the kitchen was equally specific: a blue-themed modular kitchen that felt refreshing, functional, and stylish.” Blue being a versatile color adds sophistication, tranquility, and character to this kitchen. This colour exudes elegance and works beautifully in lending a modern and traditional feel. SK Design Studio meticulously customized every corner of the home to match these requirements. From designing the blue kitchen with smart storage to creating an airy living space with the jhula, and crafting bedrooms with unique themes, the team ensured every detail aligned with the client’s preferences. “The result is a thoughtfully curated home where functionality meets creativity—an inspiring space tailored completely to the client’s lifestyle”, says Jeetendra. The dining area continues the narrative of understated luxury. Here, Dining Chairs blend sculptural grace with ergonomic comfort, encouraging lingering conversations and unhurried meals. The master bedroom has been designed as a tranquil sanctuary dressed in subtle richness. Upholstered headboards and plush bedding invite moments of calm. Beige-toned fabrics in linen envelop a soothing experience, layered thoughtfully with throw cushions in subtle patterns. The furniture sits low, in warm neutrals creating a meditative zone while allowing the craftsmanship to quietly shine through. “In the other bedrooms, the clients were looking for distinctive and attractive designs—something different from conventional layouts. They wanted each room to have its own personality while ensuring maximum comfort and usable space. Storage, openness, and customized detailing were key priorities”, informs Sarika.
The project reflects a language that is modern yet warm, refined yet deeply personal. Overall, the residence achieves a careful equilibrium of bold expression and restrained natural materials, reflecting modern Indian contemporary design that is both vibrant and enduring.
