In an era where the bonds of family are often stretched across distances, this residential design reimagines the concept of home as a sanctuary of togetherness. Adhering to the idea of the same, the team of Design Essence, under the guidance of the visionaries Jasleen and Gurpreet Chalotra, designed this abode that shares a connection with private retreats for personal moments and ensures a balance of community and privacy. Explaining the space planning and the design concept, Jasleen Chalotra adds, “Designed for three families across three thoughtfully curated floors, it celebrates the essence of multi-generational living, where individuality thrives within a collective embrace. Each floor tells a unique story while resonating with a cohesive design narrative, blending timeless aesthetics with modern functionality.”
The design begins with an entrance that revels in the allure of luxury and exquisiteness at the stilt level. Marked by an entrance lobby, every element in the design reflects a commitment to nurturing relationships across generations.
Moving forward towards the ground floor, the double-height living area evokes a sense of opulence with refined minimalism. Bespoke sofas with curved edges bring fluidity to the space. Bathed in neutral hues and warm lighting, the living area curates an atmosphere perfect for intimate conversations. Further, floor-to-ceiling windows bring natural light in, creating an airy vibe.
Adjacent lies the dining area, following the same neutral theme with luxe accents. It features a marble tabletop complemented with sleek and bespoke chairs. Additionally, with linear wall panelling designs and brass accents, the space imbues a sense of glamour and style. A captivating statement fixture atop casts a bright glow over the dining area, adding to the opulent charm of the area. One console is crowned with a decor piece inspired by a falcon, accented with red embellishments and a white backlit design, creating a bold focal point. Further, the lobby area around the staircase captures the attention with textured wall designs, defining the double height of the space. This is complemented by a huge green wall topped by a skylight, manipulating the microclimate of the space while adding an aesthetic element to the design.
As one reaches the first floor, a small family area welcomes, offering respite along with togetherness. With a captivating back panel design and warm yellow lights, the TV console has a unique charm. Plush grey sofas add to the refined setting, offering comfort with style. Tufted dining chairs evoke a luxe design statement. Adjacent, the counter area with rosegold profile shutters curates a refined statement. Bespoke decor elements and embellished wall decor create a unique design statement on the floor. Lobbies are adorned with various consoles, blending functionality and aesthetic appeal. Further, a kid’s room and a parent’s room occupy the plan. The kid’s room is adorned with a whimsical design along a palette of neutrals and pinks. A dedicated play area here allows the child to explore and enjoy. The wall panelling here is integrated with storage, with a unique silhouette, evoking the idea of playfulness in design.
The second floor follows a similar arrangement with different materials and designs. The staircase is flanked by marble-clad walls complemented by sleek, sophisticated lighting. The living area here features rounded sofas with polished brass legs, radiating elegance and comfort. A striking wallpaper panel adds an artistic contrast, enriching the overall design. Additionally, a console, with its sleek rodlike base, is topped with a serene Buddha statue, infusing the space with refinement and tranquillity. Here, the floor is occupied with the children’s room (both during their teenage years). The son’s bedroom captures attention with a wall panel design showcasing a world map with backlight.
