Rose Café invites you into a warm, nostalgic retreat. Thoughtfully designed by Acroterion Labs, it perfectly captures the cozy, timeless charm of a European countryside home.
The journey of Rose Café, located in Eldeco Centre, Malviya Nagar, New Delhi, began when a mother-daughter duo approached Acroterion Labs with a 1,800 sq. ft. space in a bustling commercial hub. Their vision was to create more than just a café—it was about crafting an experience that felt like home. They wanted a space that radiated warmth, comfort, and a sense of nostalgia, both through its ambiance and the food. The challenge was to design an interior that embodied their philosophy of hospitality, where every guest felt welcomed into the cozy, familiar atmosphere of a countryside European living room.

The design had to harmonize effortlessly with the café’s culinary philosophy, reflecting the same warmth and attention to detail that goes into every handcrafted dish, reminiscent of a grandmother’s lovingly prepared homecooked meal. Staying true to their brand identity, the space was envisioned in delicate shades of blue and pink, reinforcing a sense of familiarity and charm.
“While our design language often leans toward minimal Japandi aesthetics, Rose Café presented an opportunity to explore a contrasting realm—one of maximalist, shabbychic charm. The challenge of translating this vision into an immersive, tactile experience was one we wholeheartedly embraced,” shares Shreshth Guptaa, Principal Architect and Founder, Acroterion Labs.

The L-shaped layout provides dual access—one from within the commercial complex and another opening to an inviting alfresco nook, perfect for unhurried coffee breaks. Outdoors, motif floor tiles add distinctive character to the seating area. With a limit on structural modifications, the design maximizes its footprint, prioritizes essential functions, and ensures seamless circulation. A thoughtfully planned seating arrangement creates a balance between intimate corners and open gathering spaces. Meanwhile, a discreetly placed kitchen keeps the interiors airy, inviting, and artistic, enhancing the café’s relaxed, home-like atmosphere.
Lace curtains, exposed brickwork washed in the brand’s signature colors with hand-painted rose motifs, and custom-designed iron chandeliers adorned with delicate roses create a space that feels both timeless and intimately personal. Floral-printed upholstery draped across carved furniture with distressed finishes, set against rustic finished undulating walls, heightens the café’s aged, livedin charm. At its heart, the bar back—designed as an oversized vintage crockery cabinet—anchors the space, evoking the warmth of a home kitchen where treasured dishware is proudly displayed, reinforcing the emotional connection between food and space.

Adding to the café’s soul is the owner’s personal history. Treasured knick-knacks passed down through generations are thoughtfully displayed, while antique mirrors, chalk boards, wooden frames, and floral lace lamps further enhance the feeling of dining in a countryside manor.

“Interestingly, we approached the design in reverse—envisioning the desired user experience first and then shaping the spatial elements to bring it to life. The result is a space that transcends its commercial setting, immersing visitors in a carefully curated vintage charm that feels both nostalgic and timeless,” concludes Shreshth.

Seamlessly adapting to different moods and moments, Rose Café welcomes all—whether it’s a solo visitor savoring a quiet morning with a book, a group of friends sharing an afternoon of laughter, or a couple enjoying an intimate candlelit dinner. With its airy, light-filled interiors, charming vintage accents, and inviting aesthetics, the café has been crafted to offer a retreat where every guest can find their perfect spot.
